The second session of this year's Pigtown Peace Pavilion wound up today. Reports say that both sessions this fall were a great success. Thanks to the University of Maryland School of Nursing for working with folks from The Power House and the Chesapeake Bay Mission Center to help the kids from School 34 B'more Peaceful!

The last group visiting the Peace Pavilion for the school year just left the building. Our pilot year is now finished. We'll be doing assessment, evaluation, and planning during over the summer to make next year even better.

Thank you to everyone who served on staff, provided supplies, held us in prayer, gave financially, or participated in any way this year. You are truly helping our city B'more peaceful by teaching kids the ways of peace.

We're set up and ready for "Peace for the Planet." Some of the groups had to postpone or cancel due to schools closing early because of extreme heat. They'll be coming soon. Pix of the stations are below.

With church members, nursing students, and parent volunteers from the school, the Pigtown Peace Pavilion was staffed this week by practicing Christians, Jews, and Muslims. We couldn't have planned it any better if we'd tried.

1/26/2011 Part 2

I realized today that I hadn't posted pix of the setup for "Peace for Us." Below are several for you to see how we have things set up.

Well, the weather just doesn't seem to like having kids come to the Peace Pavilion. We were scheduled to have kids there this afternoon but we woke up to a snow day. We're looking at more snow overnight so there's a good chance we won't have the groups schedueled for tomorow, either. We'll see.
